The 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has been held in Kunming of China in October 2021. Themed with "Ecological Civilization: Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth", the COP15 is expected that a Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework will be reviewed, with new goals set for global efforts on biodiversity up to 2030. In recent years, China has been vigorously developing ecological civilization and promoting biodiversity conservation, with significant results achieved. In the area of biodiversity conservation, active and effective measures have been taken throughout the country, including diligent and thorough implementation of China National Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (2011-2030) and China Action for the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity (2011-2020). Biodiversity conservation and utilization has been gradually incorporated into various plans and programs. The rule of law has been improving constantly. Steady progress has been made in baseline surveys and scientific research. More than 90% of terrestrial ecosystems and 89% of the national key protected wildlife have been well protected.
