《千年邢窑》主要收录了国内博物馆（院、处、所），国外部分博物馆，以及民间收藏的邢窑文物精品近300件，窑址或墓葬残器及标本资料百余件，较全面系统地阐述了邢瓷从北朝经隋唐五代到宋金元时期近千年来产生与发展的历史过程，是一部融历史、文化、史料、鉴赏、趣味为一体的开创性图书。 邢窑于北朝初露端倪，成功于隋，盛兴于唐，逐步衰退于宋金元，不但开创了我国白瓷生产的先河，而且在陶瓷领域占有重要地位。“内丘白瓷瓯……天下无贵贱通用之”。而且是最早烧造贡瓷的窑场之一，它奠定了世称唐代瓷器生产“南青北白”的时代格局，成为白瓷的烧造中心和外销瓷基地。由于邢州窑是当时新兴白瓷的中心和典范，故邢州被称为北方“瓷都”。
