Details

The park, with a total area of 136.69 hectares and a water area of 61.47 hectares, is located in the west of Beijing, adjacent to Diaoyutai State Guest House and China Millennium Monument. As early as more than 800 years ago, there was a inexhaustible spring coming up from under the ground in this area, which used to be a famous tourist resort. In thirty-eight years of Qing Qinglong Emperor Qianlong (1773), the water in the area of Reclining Buddha and Biyun were introduced into Yuyuantan through XIangshan Mountain. In 1960, it was officially denominated as Yuyuantan Park by the city government of Beijing. After years of construction, "Liuchun Garden", "Cherry Garden"," Zhongshan Isle", "Yuyuan Pavilion", "the lake scenic spot" and the other scenic spots and buildings have been completed one after another, forming a natural landscape garden with characteristics of cherry and the theme of water.
