It took 30 years or more for the famous expert of Chinese medicine literature, Professor Xu Jingsheng, to compile the Chinese version of this book in which there are 300 allusions related to medicine, all told from four aspects, namely explanation in daily language, original text, concise annotation and remarks by the author. The whole book is arranged in the order of time of the source text. The allusions are categorized into genres like anecdotes in medicine history, good and great doctors, keep fit and build up, anecdotes of famous doctors, maxim and famous quotation, medical forbiddens, dialectical treatment, unique and rare case, disease of mood, different voices and interesting discussion, herbs assembly, worldly allegory, source of idiom, legend and folktale, superstition dismissal, and so on. These stories cover all subjects and field from different times, old and new. Some of the tales have been published in installments for nine years in magazines like Henan Chinese Medicine and Dahe Health, thus the popularity.
