Level: Intermediate, Advanced; Adults
This is one of the books in the Japanese-Oriented Chinese Language Teachers’ Training Series, which can also be used as a self-study material for Japanese adult learners with intermediate- or advanced- level Chinese proficiency. The whole book, written in both Chinese and Japanese, is divided into 10 chapters, systematically talking about how to teach the use of speech organs, how to teach tones, and how to teach initials, finals, tonal variations, the neutral tone, the retroflex final, etc. In regard to specific pedagogical methods and techniques, the book gives full consideration to and reflects the important and difficult points lying in Japanese speakers’ learning of Chinese phonetics, and therefore is more clearly targeted and practical than general textbooks of phonetics. The explanations of theories are natural, lively and humorous, integrating real-life feelings. The exercises are arranged in a way that can boost students’ enthusiasm and avoid boredom in classroom. The book provides teachers with plenty of feasible examples and original pedagogical ideas.
