Just imagine, the Kangxi and Qianlong emperors once walked upon the same street on the way to the Temple of Heaven to pray for rain.Maybe they were in plain clothes.There were definitely quite a few people who saw, but did not recognize them.No matter how much this street has changed, the above-mentioned incident often occurs to me.
The tower of the Gate of Positive Yang and its arrow tower were under renovation.Although the towers remain the same, they do not look like themselves any more without the enceinte and city walls extending out from either side, just as the situation at the Gate of Eternal Stability.Despite reconstruction or renovation, none of them could recover their original appearances.Besides, with endless streams of cars running around the towers all the time, pedestrians could only take the underground passage, instead of walking through the gateways of the towers.Between the tower of the Gate of Positive Yang and the Gate of Heavenly Peace, the change is even greater.
