Nuwa Mends the Heavens is Book III of Chinese ancient myths. It is one of the legends from the ancient times. Nuwa, the world-creating goddess, is the origin of the Chinese nation as well as the chief goddess bringing bliss and protection to people. Legend has it that, Nuwa made men with earth and created all the living things so that there was no long silence around. Because of this, Nuwa is also called the mother of earth. She was a beautiful goddess, with slender figure that looked like a snake, and some mythologists firmly believe that she had a body of snake.
