The 2000 Population Census of the People's Republic of China provides rich information on the population of each province of PRC. It covers the fifth population census since China adopted the socialist market economic system.

The data reflects the basic situation of the population, migration, education, economic activities, marriage, etc.

Each publication consists of 3 parts. The first part contains data on the basic situation from all households and the second part on the additional items. The third part provides relevant regulations and technical documents concerning the census as annexes.
