Preface
After 100 years of hard work, the Communist Party of China has united and led the people to realize the most extensive people's democracy in a country that has experienced the history of feudal society for thousands of years, and the people have truly become the masters of the country, society and their own destiny. China has created the miracle of rapid economic and social development on the basis of poverty and completed the industrialization process in just a few decades that developed countries have gone through for hundreds of years. China has become the world's second largest economy with its comprehensive national strength, scientific and technological strength, national defense strength, cultural influence and international influence significantly enhanced. The living standards of our people rose significantly from insufficient food and clothing to a well-off society in all respects and China has completely got rid of absolute poverty, becoming the country with the largest middle-income population in the world; China has maintained lasting social harmony and stability, and people live and work in peace and contentment, which makes itself one of the most secure countries recognized by the international community.
Marx pointed out that just as a line is not a point in space, an era is not a moment in time. "Era" means a certain length of time, and only when time accumulates to a certain amount will there be changes in the era. Over the past 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially over 40 years since the reform and opening-up, China has experienced the most profound and radical changes ever, and the Chinese people have deeply felt the dramatic changes of the era.
Well, people may ask, what era is China in today? In terms of the primary stage of socialism, it took roughly 100 years from the basic completion of the socialist transformation of private ownership of the means of production to the basic realization of socialist modernization, and China has now entered the second half of the primary stage. In terms of the phased goal of socialist modernization, with the realization of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, China is on a new journey to achieve the second Centenary Goal, that is, the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country, which is also the second half of modernization. It can be said that China today is in the best era in its history.
