About Author
廖文豪,台湾大学机电系毕业、专精于电脑的“理工人”,在偶然的机会接触了被认为许多从事文学创作的作家、专家也被视为畏途的“文字学”,产生了浓厚的兴趣,顺着历来名家的研究,进入了汉字构形的世界,流连忘返。作者现任中国台湾台北商业技术学院副教授兼图书馆馆长。钟情于古汉字研究,钻研甲骨文十余年,发表过《汉字龙原来是一条逆天之龙》、《文身习俗对汉字的影响》、《在汉字里遇见上帝》、《品茗汉字里的酒香》等文章。

好:有孩“子”的“女”人,美善也。“好”引申为美、善、值得称许,相关用词如美好、好友等。“好”也可解释为有女人及孩子的男子。古代的男子渴望有女人及孩子,因此,有学者将好解释为“有女人及孩子者为好。”
孟:在盆子里洗澡的孩子。
中国历代的王位继承主要采用嫡长子方式,这是源自于殷商后期的帝王产生模式,因此,长子具有较多的特权。例如,长子具有祭祀的代表权,祭祀前要更衣沐浴。先民住在较缺水的北方,农作物以种植耐旱的小麦为主,所以对于水资源异常珍惜,不常洗澡,如果有机会能泡在大盆子里洗澡,那真是奢侈的享受,但这似乎是长子的特权。
古人以孟、仲、季来表示三兄弟或每一季之月份排序。例如,孔子的哥哥排行老大,故名孟皮,孔子排行第二,所以名叫仲尼。《说文》:“孟,长也。”
