《咬文嚼字》月刊发行者为中国上海之上海文化出版社，创刊发行于1995年1月的《咬文嚼字》，今为32开，约50页的文艺月刊，主要内容则为纠正媒体艺人、名家作品的错别字，而今月刊编辑委员则包含知名上海作家金文明等。因内容颇具特色，《咬文嚼字》已成为中国境内汉语文化品质“捍卫者”角色，并共发起了多次“社会查找错字活动”。并造成一定影响，例如，2007年，台湾艺人伊能静新专辑的“纶巾”念法与稍早神舟六号错写成“神州六号”的反应，与该刊物有密切关系。
除此，该月刊亦于同期刊登汉学错误排行榜。
