Yang Naiwu and Xiao Baicai are well-known figures in the Qing Dynasty. They were the victims of a wrong verdict that several local and central officials were implicated in. Through this case we can see the corruption in the justice system and the deep-rooted practices of the officialdom of that time, as well as the people's pursuit of justice and happiness.
