Sunshine Chinese is a series of textbooks especially designed for elementary and junior high school students who want to learn Chinese as an additional language. Aligning the vocabulary, the grammar and the language functions in the textbooks with those required in the YCT, it focuses on developing students' communicative competence in Chinese as well as students'interest in learning Chinese. It blends the idea of learning the target language and culture in stories, and enabling the practice of the target language with games. The entire series of Sunshine Chinese is composed of 12 volumes with four levels each that corresponds with Level 1, Leve1 2, Level 3 and Level 4 of the YCT respectively. Each level includes Textbook A, Textbook B and a Teachers'Guidebook. The Workbook is attached to each Textbook.
