This communiqué covers a wide range of aspects of China's outward direct investment (ODI). It begins with an overview summarizing the overall investment situation; followed by descriptions of investment flows and stock; a description of direct investment in major global economies; and an analysis of the composition of ODI investors and investing companies. The communiqué includes several appendices, covering investment flows and stock by country/region and sector distribution from 2016 to 2024, as well as non-financial investment flows and stock by province, autonomous region, and municipality, and investment flows and stock in the EU and ASEAN. Furthermore, the appendix introduces the ODI statistical system, including general instructions, a table of contents, explanations of key indicators, and definitions of concepts. Finally, a postscript is included.
