This book is the tenth volume of Catalogue of Chinese Coleoptera, which includes all valid species and subspecies from the family Megalopododidae and the family Chrysomelidae which belong to the super-family Chrysomeloidea (Coleoptera). The related references were collected until the end of 2018. This catalogue was mainly based on research achievements and literature searches, and the latest research achievements from our group. The references were mainly from the Zoological Record (1864–2018),the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera,Volume 6 Chrysomeloidea, edited by L?bl & Smetana (2010),also from the latest research achievements from the other international colleagues who have contributed to Chinese leaf beetles.
This book covers 2 families,15 subfamilies,426 genera, and 4,077 species/subspecies of Chrysomeloidea. The arrangement of subfamilies follows previous publications as well as our own interpretations. Hispinae and Alticinae are treated at the subfamily level. Genera are given with their relevant citations and arranged according to their systematic position. Species within each genus are listed alphabetically. The key citations of each species are listed. The valid species are listed first, followed by information on combinations, changes, synonyms and replacement names etc.,which are sequenced according to the published year form earliest to latest. However, some related information cannot be accurate because of some species with long history and many synonyms. We have attempted to provide the type locality (TL) and type depository (TD) for each valid species. Nevertheless, for the same reasons noted above, type information for some species is unavailable or may be imprecise due to the lack of relevant references. The distribution of each species is also included. Distribution records within China are presented at the provincial level, while international distributions are indicated by country or region. For widely distributed species, only broader regional distributions are provided to conserve space. Relevant references are provided for each taxonomic rank. The abbreviations of museums and personal collections used for type deposition are listed below.
