About the Author

Zhao Zhongxiu is the President of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), holding positions as a professor, a doctoral supervisor,and an expert receiving special government allowances from the State Council.Previously, he served as the President of Shandong University of Finance and Economics and a visiting scholar at the University of Manchester and Michigan State University. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from UIBE and an honorary doctorate from Yokohama National University. Dr. Zhao is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He leads national key disciplines and a national teaching team in international trade and holds key posts such as Chairman of Higher Education Economics and International Trade Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of China Society of World Economics, and Co-President of China Council for BRICS Think Tank Cooperation. He has published extensively on international trade,industrial economics, global value chains, and the Chinese economy, and has led major research projects supported by the National Social Science Fund of China,Ministry of Education, Ministry of Commerce, and international organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
Zhao Jing is an associate professor at the Research Institute for Global Value Chains, University of International Business and Economics. She earned her Ph.D.in economics from Tsinghua University and previously worked as an economist at the OECD and a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on global value chains, public finance, and the Chinese economy.She has published widely on these topics and has participated in various projects funded by governments and international organizations,
