This book is one of the Starting Line — A Series of “Chinese+” textbooks, which belongs to the series ofgeneral core course textbooks for international students. This textbook isdesigned for international students who have some basic knowledge of Chineseand are interested in learning architecture Chinese. The book consists of 15 lessons, each of which is divided into a “main text” in theform of dialogue, and a “secondary text” in the form of written language. Interms of content arrangement, it consists of three sections, the basicknowledge, the fieldwork, and the internship experience with each containingfive lessons, and the selected scenes and teaching objectives of the texts ineach section are consistent with the theme of that section. Furthermore, threesections are relatively independent and interconnected from theory to practice,and the idea of writing is basically consistent with the stage-by-stagecultivation programme of the five-year architecture major in undergraduatecolleges and universities.
About the Author
Zhang Yanhua is a professor and doctoral supervisor atthe College of International Education, Shandong University. She has beenengaged in teaching Chinese as a foreign language for more than 40 years,during which time she has taught at the Department of Sinology of theUniversity of Vienna, Austria, as a government-sponsored teacher for threeyears, and has been dispatched as an expert by Hanban to conduct teachertraining overseas for many times. Professor Zhang has presided over the “LinguisticSelection of Chinese Literature in the Twentieth Century” (a project of theSocial Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education of China), and the “TextbookDevelopment and Curriculum System Research of Purpose-oriented “Chinese+”Architectural Chinese” (a key project of the Centerfor Language Education and Cooperation), “Research on Chinese Teacher TrainingBased on Chinese International Promotion Strategy” (Social Science Project ofShandong Province) and many other provincial and ministerial scientificresearch projects.
