This book, is an intensive reading textbook Chinese with English translation for elementary Chinese learners.

It is divided into two volumes (I & II), and every volume has forty lessons. The first forty lessons can be used for the first semester, and the last forty lessons for the second semester.

The main contents of the book are summed up as follows: (1) hints on grammar points and functions; (2) texts; (3) new words; (4) notes; (5) grammar; (6) phonetics; (7) exercises.
