Unfortunately, each access point has a different routable subnet address, so if you switch to the new access point's uplink you'll suddenly switch IP addresses, which will break your connection.

The receiving host is on the same subnet as the sending host, in which case the datagram will be sent directly from the sender to the receiver.

You need to specify the number of nodes you want to use and the subnet they will use.

If you want to add another IP address from the same subnet to an interface, it's simple and can be done with IP aliasing.
