Details

This book is compiled in accordance with the requirements of HSK. It contains all Chinese characters indispensable for basic, elementary and intermediate and advanced Chinese language level tests. It is completed with the order of strokes, pinyin, related phrases and English translation of each character. For the convenience of the readers, each page of the book is printed in the shape of post stamps. This is designed to facilitate readers who wish to tear pages off the hook far reading purpose.

HSK is a national standard test for testing the Chinese language level of foreigners, overseas Chinese, ethnic minority people and others whose mother tongue is not Chinese. HSK includes basic Chinese language level, elementary and intermediate Chinese language level, and advanced Chinese language level tests designed by Chinese Language Test Centre of Beijing Language and CulturalUniversity. HSK holds regular test at home and abroad, and one will be issued with the "Chinese Language Level Certificate" when having passed the test.

The National Chinese Language Level Test Committee, affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China, is empowered to sponsor the test and issue the examination certificate. Under the National Chinese Language Level Test Committee is an office charged with the work related to the test. The basic Chinese language test is organized for those who have studied modern Chinese language in schools for 100 to 800 hours. The elementary and intermediate Chinese language test is for those who have studied modern Chinese language in schools for 400 to 2000 hours. The advanced Chinese language test is for those who have studied modem Chinese language in schools for 3000 or more than 2000 hours. HSK is a real Chinese language level certificate for those students who make specialistic study in China's institutes or universities, or apply for their graduate study. People holding the HSK certificates shall be exempt from the compulsory test required to test the given Chinese language level.
