20 classical buildings in Jing'an District, consisting of houses with gardens, apartment buildings, as well as religious structures, have been selected for this book. We hope that the elegant pictures and detailed explanations provided may give full expression to the architectural characteristics of these buildings and the stories that they have to tell. Our goal for this book is to serve as a window, through which readers can obtain an understanding of the architectural culture of Jing'an District.
